Badging Requirements

General Aviation Security

Make your next flight hassle-free by familiarizing yourself with security at Blue Grass Airport. In compliance with Transportation Security Administration (TSA) requirements, the airport has implemented the following security procedures.

General Aviation Identification Badges

All prospective badge holders requiring unescorted access must complete an application and be fingerprinted for a criminal history records check. Badges will be issued upon approval of results. If any disqualifying crimes are revealed, badges will not be issued.

Badging, fingerprinting and training are available through the airport's Badging Office located in the Integrated Operations and Coordination Center. Appointments are available Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm, and must be scheduled in advance. Please call the Integrated Operations and Coordination Center at 859.425.3112 to schedule an appointment.

General Aviation Escort Policy

In accordance with TSA badging requirements, valid General Aviation badge holders may escort any personnel except those who have had a Blue Grass Airport badge invalidated by cause or expiration, or who do not posses their valid issued badge when accessing the secured General Aviation area. Escorts must, at all times, be in a position to actively monitor, direct and control the movements and actions of accompanied person(s) and/or vehicles.
