Airfield Electrical Vault Relocation
A new aboveground electrical vault with six new regulators will be relocated closer to the airport's maintenance facility. The construction of Runway 9-27 will require this additional airfield lighting equipment. The electrical vault contains the electrical power distribution equipment, constant current regulators, airfield lighting control system and standby power system for all airfield lighting and guidance signs at Blue Grass Airport. This project is funded by The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.

Airport Master Plan
Blue Grass Airport has prepared
an Airport Master Plan to provide a comprehensive overview of the airport's anticipated
needs for the next 20 years. This plan includes recommended improvements to the
airfield, terminal, public parking, general aviation and other support facilities.
It provides a detailed forecast of future levels of aviation activity, the airport's
ability to provide necessary capacity to accommodate the anticipated levels of
aviation activity and preliminary capacity enhancing alternatives for long-term
development. Click here for more information on the
Airport Master Plan and documents pertaining to it.
