Blue Grass Airport Announces New Board Officers For 2025

January 13, 2025—The Lexington-Fayette Urban County Airport Board is pleased to announce that it has appointed Brian Wells as Chair of the Board for 2025. A member of the Board since 2018, Mr. Wells has previously served as Vice Chair and Secretary. He succeeds the Airport Board’s outgoing Chair, Dan Mason.

Brian Wells brings extensive professional expertise to his role as Chair. As a partner at Wyatt, Tarrant & Combs, LLP, he specializes in general business law, mergers and acquisitions, real estate lending transactions, commercial leasing, and contract drafting and negotiation.

In addition to the Airport Board appointment of Brian Wells as Chair, Tonya Jackson has been appointed Vice Chair, Marc Mathews has been appointed Treasurer and Shirie Hawkins has been appointed Secretary. Other members include Clay Angelucci, Angela Coleman, Dan Mason, Bengaly “Sav” Savané, Dave Sevigny and Mary-Alicha Weldon.

The Lexington-Fayette Urban County Airport Board is the governing body for Lexington’s Blue Grass Airport. Its 10 volunteer members are appointed by the Mayor of Lexington and confirmed by the Urban County Council. The Airport Board sets policy, represents the interests of the community and hires a President & CEO who carries out the day-to-day functions of the airport.
