Airport Board Welcomes Angela Coleman and Bangaly “Sav” Savané as New Board Members

January 22, 2024—The Lexington-Fayette Urban County Airport Board is pleased to welcome Angela Coleman and Bangaly “Sav” Savané as new members beginning January 2024. Ms. Coleman and Mr. Savané will serve four-year terms on the airport’s 10-member board.

Ms. Coleman serves as a fiduciary investment advisor for American Trust and has a finance career spanning over 20 years. At American Trust, Ms. Coleman provides financial advisory services for Wealth Management division clients and develops relationships with external advisory partners. She obtained a master’s degree in finance from the University of Kentucky’s Gatton College of Business and Economics in 2001. She was awarded the Accredited Investment Fiduciary designation in 2005 and obtained her Certified Financial Planner professional certification in 2006. Ms. Coleman serves the community as the board chair of Assurance for Life and as the nominating committee chair for LexArts. In addition, Ms. Coleman volunteers locally with organizations such as Junior Achievement of the Bluegrass, Lighthouse Ministries, God’s Pantry and others.

As an aircraft sales executive, Mr. Savané works for AirMart Aircraft Sales & Brokerage, headquartered at Blue Grass Airport. In this role, he assists in maintaining and growing the business for AirMart’s 6,000+ clients. Mr. Savané has a strong background in aviation as a commercial-rated pilot and a former aircraft owner. Prior to his position at AirMart, Mr. Savané was general manager at Sav’s Grill and Sav’s Chill restaurants in Lexington. He supports the aviation community as a member of the Friends of the 99s—an association supporting licensed female pilots—and the Organization of Black Aerospace Professionals, which encourages the advancement of minorities in aviation careers. Mr. Savané also interacts with local flight schools and the Lexington Flying Club.

The Lexington-Fayette Urban County Airport Board is the governing body for Lexington’s Blue Grass Airport. Its 10 volunteer members are appointed by the Mayor of Lexington and confirmed by the Urban County Council. The Airport Board sets policy, represents the interests of the community and hires a president & CEO who carries out the day-to-day functions of the airport.
