BLUE GRASS AIRPORT EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR NAMED KENTUCKY AIRPORT
MANAGER OF THE YEAR

October 12, 2016 – Blue Grass Airport Executive Director Eric Frankl, A.A.E., was named Kentucky Commercial Service Airport Manager of the Year at the 40th annual Kentucky Aviation Association Conference in Owensboro, Kentucky. Awarded by the Kentucky Aviation Association, in partnership with the Kentucky Department of Aviation, this recognition is given to an airport manager who embodies a broad depth of knowledge of all aspects of aviation, has a proven record of overseeing airport facilities and improvement projects, and is actively involved in the local, state and federal aviation community.

The Kentucky Aviation Association is a non-profit association that promotes aviation and airport management in the Commonwealth through networking and professional development opportunities. Approximately 300 aviation professionals attended this year's conference to participate in informational sessions and have the opportunity to network with industry colleagues and governmental leaders.

"Eric Frankl has served our community well as Blue Grass Airport's executive director. This recognition by the Kentucky Aviation Association and Kentucky Department of Aviation was well-deserved," said Airport Board Chair Larry Deener. "Under Eric's leadership, the airport has positioned itself to be an attractive, cost-effective venue for our airline partners. Blue Grass Airport has had record enplanements for three consecutive years. The airport continues to grow and provide quality air service and facilities for the region. Eric's leadership and our employees' hard work have positioned Blue Grass Airport for a successful future."
